ISU tennis team competes in Missouri

Iowa State was back in action in the Mizzou Invitational on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Alyssa Palen led off her Flight B singles match with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 first round win before losing in the second round to Missouri’s Raquel Wagner, 6-4, 6-2. In the consolation match against Drake’s Keri Sloboth, Palen fell 6-1, 6-0.
In Flight A, Caitlin Loprinzi also went 1-2 on the weekend, losing her first-round match 6-4, 6-3, and winning her second match 6-1, 5-7, 10-6 before losing to Drake’s Irina Kalashalkova, 6-2, 6-2.
Dora Losonczy and Liza Wischer led Iowa State in Flight B doubles, advancing to the finals of the consolation round before losing to Illinois State’s Carolyne Parent and Tanja Hrovatic, 8-4.
The Cyclones next play at the ITA Central Regionals in Tulsa, Okla., on Wednesday.
