Cyclone men take 10th, women 17th at Pre-Nationals

The ISU men’s cross country team took 10th place with 270 points at Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday.

Kiel Uhl led the way for the Cyclones, taking 19th in the 8,000-meter race with a time of 23 minutes, 40 seconds. Hillary Bor ran a 24:08 for 46th, and Guor Majak was 57th with a time of 24:11.

Five ISU runners finished in the top 80.

On the women’s side, the Cyclones were led by Lisa Koll, who ran a time of 20:16 to finish fifth in the 6,000. Grace Kemmey took 23rd with a time of 20:52. The women’s team finished in 17th place.

“Overall, I feel pretty good about both teams,” ISU coach Corey Ihmels said in an ISU press release. “The men ran well and we had a couple guys who aren’t 100 percent. You always want more, but overall it was a good effort.”

Iowa State will next head to Lubbock, Texas, for the Big 12 Cross Country Championships on Oct. 26.
