Heavyweight Justin Wren will not be joining the ISU wrestling team this season.

Wren, a decorated Texas prep recruit, did not enroll in fall classes and decided to pursue his mixed martial arts career full-time, according to coach Cael Sanderson.

He was thought to possibly challenge returning starter and Big 12 Champion David Zabriskie for a starting role, and had moved to Ames while taking classes at Des Moines Area Community College last year.
