The feeling one gets from listening to Lovedrug’s LP, “Everything Starts Where It Ends,” can be described in more ways than one. The sheer beauty of the music is enough to lighten the heaviest load. Complete relaxation comes with this record and Michael Sheperd’s vocals can be compared to the voice of Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carrabba. On the musical side, some songs are very slow and feature instruments such as acoustic guitar and piano, whereas the next song will switch gears and throw harder riffs and have a much faster tempo with electric guitars and full percussion. Although some bands go about doing this the wrong way, Lovedrug has a way of doing so that works. The journey taken while exploring this entire 12-track record takes you through an array of emotions. It’s easy to tell Lovedrug knew the direction they wanted to take while going into the recording of “Everything Starts Where It Ends.”
