Cyclones take second at Badger Invitational

Rain couldn’t prevent senior Kendra Hanson from winning the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wis., Monday with a score of 147 (+3).

Hanson competed as an individual, so her score didn’t count for the team score. Freshman Laurence Herman’s second-place score of 148 (-2) did count toward the Cyclones’ second-place finish.

Sophomore Pennapa Pulsawath also tied for second. Senior Karly Pinder shot a score of 152 (+2) to finish in 18th.

Iowa State finished with a team score of 605. Oklahoma won the meet with a score of 594.

The final day of the tournament was canceled because of rain after all players had completed at least nine holes. No final day scores counted in the final results, so Sunday’s first two rounds accounted for the final scores of the tournament.

Iowa State next plays in the Ron Moore Invitational on Sept. 17 and 18.
