How the Hawks fared last week

Iowa dominated Syracuse from start to finish, shutting down the Orange offense en route to a 35-0 win last Saturday. The Hawkeye defense held Syracuse to just 103 total yards of offense, while Iowa’s offense racked up 408 yards and 22 first downs. Iowa wide receiver Tony Moeaki had three touchdown catches, and Kenny Iwebema blocked two Syracuse field goal attempts.

Quarterback Jake Christensen threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns, while Iowa’s defense held the Orange to just 24 rushing yards. Iowa State beat the Hawkeyes the last time the two met in Ames in 2005, beating the then-No. 8 Hawkeyes, 23-3.
