A suspect has been arrested in connection to the death of an Ames resident which occurred early Saturday morning.

Larry Brown, a 39-year-old Ames resident, was found by officers with a chest stab wound after police had received a call of a reported assault, according to an Ames Police Department press release. Brown was taken to Mary Greely Medical Center and pronounced dead on arrival.

This morning, police arrested Catricia Shelburn, also known as Catricia Brown, on first-degree murder charges in connection with the death.

Shelburn is being held on a $900,000 bond according to the release.
