ISU track program honored for academic success

The ISU women’s track and field team was named a 2007 All-Academic Track and Field Team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for its display of classroom excellence.

The team held a 3.31 grade point average, which was good enough to rank in the nation’s top 25 for NCAA Division I. A minimum 3.00 GPA is necessary to be nominated for the award.

The honor comes on the heels of three athletes from both the men’s and women’s teams earning academic All-American status.

Lisa Koll, Jenna Caffrey and Agata Kosuda for the women, and Neil Hines, Jayden Russ and Jared Lewis for the men, were all named All-Americans by the USTFCCCA.

A cumulative GPA of 3.25 and an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark are necessary to qualify for the All-Academic team.
