Cyclone fans managed to propel Cy past the Arkansas Razorback in a furious finish to the www.cbs.sportsline.com “Most Dominant College Mascot on Earth” competition.

Receiving 53 percent of the 1,741,864 votes in the finals, Cy won the 64-mascot competition by more than 100,000 votes. The total vote count had surpassed 100,000 Wednesday evening, leaving the last two days for the big finish.

Iowa State will receive a commemorative plaque for the distinction of being this year’s most dominant mascot.

Voting totals in the Iowa State’s first three rounds didn’t exceed 55,000, but in the regional finals against the Southern Utah Thunderbirds, there were almost 900,000 votes. In the final four matchup versus Michigan State, Cy received 56 percent of the 3,476,157 votes.
