The information in this log comes from ISU Police Department and the City of Ames Police Department records provided to the Daily. All those accused of violating the law are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Jan. 20
- Megan Schmidt, 23, 302 Strawberry Lane, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
- Officers responded to a reported fight. Several of the people involved had left the scene prior to officer arrival.
- Tristan Frangos, 19, 2314 Broadmoor Ave., was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
- Steven Nystrom, 26, 815 Miller Ave., was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated.
- Andrew Bigler, of Elk Run Heights, reported the theft of a motor vehicle. The incident occurred sometime since Jan. 14.
- Emily Lemburg, 19, 7211 Frederiksen Court, was cited for underage possession of alcohol.
Jan. 21
- Erin Finley, 21, 1409 Carroll Avenue, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, driving under suspension and failing to provide proof of insurance.
- A student officer observed an individual break a light in the loading dock area and then run into the building.
- Erick Allen, 21, of Boone, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
- David Keller, 22, of Des Moines, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
- An abandoned bicycle was placed into secure storage.
- A resident of Willlow Hall reported the theft of electronic equipment.
- Nicolas Martinez, 4545 Friley Hall, reported the theft of an electronic game system and accessories.
Jan. 22
- A staff member reported damage to several vehicle windows. It was subsequently determined that stereo equipment had been forcibly removed from some of the cars.
- A witness reported seeing a vehicle strike a parked car before leaving the area. Neither vehicle was located at or near the scene. The investigation is continuing.
- An officer on patrol observed damage to a vehicle window. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.
