The information in the log comes from ISU Police Department records provided to the Daily. All those accused of violating the law are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Nov. 16
– A student officer observed an individual taking an office chair.
– Alejandro Hughes, 18, 714 Maple Hall, was arrested and charged with theft and interference with official acts.
– Zachary Dunlay, 18, 306 Linden Hall, was arrested and charged with aiding and abetting a theft.
– Nicholas Murphy, 21, 1332 Walton Drive apt. #102, was arrested and charged with driving under suspension. He was subsequently released on citation.
– Officers initiated a drug-related investigation.
– A patron reported the theft of a laptop computer.
– A staff member reported the theft of a projector.
– A resident reported an acquaintance received a suspicious inquiry regarding a third person.
Nov. 17
– Joseph Wells, 19, 5213 Frederiksen Court, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
– James Evans, 20, 5213 Frederiksen Court, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
– An individual reported that someone had tampered with the front brake handle on a motorcycle.
– A resident reported receiving harassing messages.
– A staff member reported the theft of van seats from the loading dock area.
– A quantity of found cash was placed into secure storage.
– A staff member reported damage to the windshield of a vehicle.
Nov. 18
– A staff member reported damage to a restroom.
– Matthew Schrage, 19, of Sac City, was cited for underage possession of alcohol.
– Bret Heuberger, 20, of Hampton, was cited for underage possession of alcohol.
– Samantha Peterson, 19, of Ankeny, was cited for underage possession of alcohol.
– Jeremy Holst, 19, of Avoca, was cited for underage possession of alcohol.
– An individual reported losing a purse.
Nov. 19
– Jennifer Wood, 28, of Boone, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
– Nicholas Graeve, 21, 1337 Arizona Ave., was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
– John Tieskoetter, 22, 4709 Steinbeck St. apt. #9, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Nov. 21
– A staff member reported that a semi truck struck a parking lot sign.
– An officer mediated a dispute between two people.
– Vehicles operated by Mark Debner and Edward Kinnaman were involved in a property damage collision.
– Floyd Schake reported damage to the finish of a car.
– Officers initiated a computer-related investigation for another agency.
Nov. 22
– Vehicles driven by Thomas Oxley and Gregory Bloom were involved in a property damage collision.
– Officers checked the welfare of a resident who reportedly was experiencing emotional difficulties.
– A vehicle that left the scene struck a car owned by Kim McDonough.
Nov. 23
– Jacob Swieter, 23, of Des Moines, was arrested and charged with driving under suspension. He was subsequently released on citation.
– An officer on patrol observed two men acting suspiciously near a building. Further investigation revealed they had no university affiliation and were in possession of lock picking equipment, tape, markers, two-way radios and multi-tools. Cody Perry, 19, and Michael Berg, 21, both of Madrid, were arrested and charged with possession of burglary tools. No immediate evidence of building burglaries was discovered.
Nov. 24
– An officer observed the driver of a motorcycle throw bottles of soda into the bushes on Osborn Drive. Another officer found seven bottles of soda in the bushes outside the Hub. The motorcycle was subsequently stopped. Follow-up investigation revealed two male juveniles had taken a large number of beverage containers from two vending machines; the individuals were referred to Juvenile Court Services and then released to the custody of their respective relatives. The driver was additionally cited for violating an instruction permit and having no insurance.
