The Good
Jason Taylor
The Miami Dolphins defensive end wreaked havoc all day for the Chicago Bears. He had a sack, three tackles, a forced fumble and an interception for a touchdown in Miami’s win over the previously undefeated Bears.
Damon Huard . sigh
I can’t believe that the Kansas City Chiefs 33-year-old back-up quarterback, Damon Huard, is making the “Good.” Since taking over for Trent Green, he has a 105.2 quarterback rating, and has thrown 11 touchdowns and only one interception. The sigh was for Trent Green . more on that later.
Crowd-pleaser
New York Giants running back Tiki Barber finally caved to the wishes of fantasy football owners everywhere. Yep, that’s right, he actually scored a touchdown.
The Bad
Poor Trent Green
I really feel for this guy. He is reliving the nightmare that was his 1999 season with the St. Louis Rams. Remember when that nobody from the arena football league, Kurt Warner, took over for an injured Green and led the talented Rams to a Super Bowl win? History repeats in the form of Damon Huard.
Not-so Golden Boy
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady imploded on Sunday night against the undefeated Indianapolis Colts, throwing four interceptions and no touchdowns.
Good and bad news
The good news first – Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw for 433 yards. The bad news – three interceptions, another loss and a 2-6 record.
The Ugly
:00
The Dallas Cowboys lined up for a field goal with the game tied and six seconds on the clock. The kick was blocked and picked up by the Washington Redskins and returned to the 44 of Dallas. A facemask penalty allowed the Redskins one last play, even though the clock read :00. Nick Novak nailed the kick for the win. That’s how you blow a game.
World Series results
The Minnesota Vikings lost to the San Francisco 49ers 9-3 in game seven of the world series – oh wait, that’s the score of a football game on Sunday. I know the 49ers won, but there are no winners with a score like that.
Beep, Beep, Beep,
What’s that sound? It’s New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush backing up. He rushed for negative 5 yards on 11 attempts.
