The information in the log comes from ISU Police Department records provided to the Daily. All those accused of violating the law are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Oct. 25
Officers received a report of a vehicle leaving the Memorial Union parking ramp without paying for services. The vehicle was stopped a short distance away. The driver, Christopher O’Sullivan, 34, of Minneapolis, was subsequently arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated and theft in the fifth degree.
A staff member reported receiving an unusual piece of mail that contained a note and a $1 bill.
Vehicles driven by Ralph Earll and Timothy Fogue were involved in a personal injury collision.
Officers initiated a drug-related investigation.
Oct. 26
A resident reported receiving a harassing telephone call.
An officer reported the possible theft of two defibrillator devices.
Oct. 27
A staff member reported damage to a window.
A vehicle that left the scene struck two pedestrians who were walking in the lot.
Ryan Mullnix, 18, 167C University Village, was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was additionally taken into custody on a warrant held by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office.
An iPod was found and placed in secure storage until the owner can be identified.
Oct. 28
Jon Vanerkel, 20, 228 Gray Ave., was cited for underage possession of alcohol.
Benjamin Crosby, 19, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated.
Douglas Joachim, 21, was arrested and charged with public intoxication.
Chi-Kuen Derek Ma, 20, was arrested and charged with public intoxication.
