Alvin Bowen
Outside linebacker
Bowen is one of just a handful of Cyclone defenders who had experience going into this season. He is teaming with returning starter Adam Carper and Tyrone McKenzie, who played at Michigan State as a true freshman, to lead a linebacking corps that will be the backbone of the ISU defense.
– Bowen led the Cyclones with 20 tackles against Toledo, including 14 solo stops.
– Along with counterpart McKenzie, the two linebackers had 35 of Iowa State’s 81 total tackles.
– Bowen recovered a fumble that McKenzie caused, stopping a first half Toledo drive.
– Had 33 tackles last season, coming off the bench to play in all 12 of Iowa State’s games.
