Caleb Berg
Safety
Berg got the first start of his career against Toledo and made the most of it. He recorded seven tackles from his safety position and was outstanding on special teams, earning team MVP honors in that area.
Stevie Hicks
Running back
Back and healthy, Hicks showed his skills with a solid performance versus Toledo. He rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown, looking more like the running back who rushed for 1,000 yards in 2004 instead of the player who missed significant parts of 2005 with injuries.
Tyrone McKenzie
Linebacker
After transferring from Michigan State, McKenzie lived up to his hype. The sophomore had 15 tackles as well as an interception and forced fumble. He was also a presence in the Toledo backfield, recording two tackles for loss.
