Iowa State got the ball first in overtime and reclaimed the lead, as Bret Meyer rushed for his third touchdown of the game. The Cyclones now have a 30-23 lead. Toledo has the ball.

Update 10:11 p.m.

Tied at 23, the game has gone to overtime. Iowa State got the ball first and is currently driving.

Update 9:59 p.m.

Toledo won’t go away, converting a 4th and 11 and then scoring on the next play. The Rockets added the two-point conversion to tie the game at 23 with 3:28 to play.

Update 9:54 p.m.

With the score 23-15 and five minutes remaining, Toledo has the ball and is driving. The Rockets have moved the ball to the Iowa State 30-yardline.

Update 9:32 p.m.

Iowa State returned to the scoreboard, this time on a 39-yard field goal by Brett Culbertson, pushing their lead to eight, 23-15.

Update 9:18 p.m.

Proving they won’t go away, Toledo just scored, making the score 20-15 with 1:24 to play in the third. Toledo quarterback Clint Cochran is 25-of-31 on the game for 208 yards and two scores.

Update 9:05 p.m.

For the second time tonight, Bret Meyer found the endzone with his legs, this time taking a quarterback draw 18 yards for the score. Iowa State went for the two-point conversion but came up short, giving ISU a 20-8 lead with 7:06 to play in the third quarter.

Update 8:23 p.m.

Iowa State’s Tyron McKenzie intercepted a pass on the last play of the first half, sending the Cyclone to the locker room with a 14-8 lead. Bret Meyer threw for 118 yards in the first half and also rushed for a touchdown. Running back Stevie Hicks has the other Cyclone score.

Update 8:15 p.m.

Iowa State responded to Toledo’s scoring drive, marching downfield and reclaiming the lead with a Stevie Hicks 6-yard touchdown run. The Cyclones now have a 14-8 lead with under one minute remaining in the half.

Update 8:06 p.m.

Toledo marched down the field, starting their posession on the one-yardline and going 99 yards for a score. A four yard touchdown pass from Clint Cochran to Chris Hopkins put the Rockets on the board. Iowa State blocked the extra point, but Toledo recovered the live ball and ran it in for a two-point conversion and a 8-7 lead with 4:22 to play in the first half.

Update 7:40 p.m.

At the end of the first quarter Iowa State holds a 7-0 lead and is driving again. The Cyclones forced Toledo to punt and got the ball back at their own 4-yardline. They are now at their own 33 where they have a first-and-ten.

Bret Meyer completed all seven of his first quarter passes, throwing for 103 yards. He also rushed four times for seven yards and a score.

Update 7:26 p.m.

Iowa State’s high powered offense is already on display. A unit that returned ten of 11 starters marched down the field, mixing runs and passes before quarterback Bret Meyer found the end zone on a 6-yard quarterback draw, giving Iowa State a 7-0 lead with 5:33 remaining in the first quarter. Earlier in the drive, Meyer hit Todd Blythe for a 30 yard gain, the pass and catch setting up the score.

Iowa State took the opening kickoff and marched downfield before tight end Ben Barkema fumbled. Toledo couldn’t do anything with their possession, turning the ball over on downs.
