Letterwinners Club honors Cyclone greats

The ISU Letterwinners Club honored 10 former Cyclones with Hall of Fame inductions Tuesday.
Former Cyclone and current LPGA women’s golfer Beth Bader, Olympian, track and field and cross country standout Jon Brown; basketball star John Crawford, three-time NCAA pommel horse champion Russ Hoffman, Chicago White Sox first baseman Jerry the “Weekend Warrior” McNertney and former golf and Olympics wrestling coach Hugo Otopalik will all be inducted into the ISU Hall of Fame Sept. 8.
Former gridiron greats Barry Hill – the only NCAA All-American safety in ISU history – and three-time NFL Pro Bowl offensive lineman Keith Sims will be inducted as ISU football players.
ISU administrators Clay Stapleton and Winifred Tilden will also be inducted.
Ninety-four coaches, administrators and athletes have been inducted into the ISU Hall of Fame since its inception in 1997.
The past Cyclones will be honored during halftime of the Iowa State versus University of Nevada-Las Vegas football game Sept. 9 at Jack Trice Stadium.
