Indie rock trio Low set to play M-Shop; tickets still available
April 3, 2006
Indie trio Low will be playing at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Maintenance Shop of the Memorial Union. Loved by indie music buffs, Low is touring in support of its unusual “The Great Destroyer,” the band’s first disc released from Sub Pop records. Initially set to tour last summer, Low canceled its tour after singer/guitarist Alan Sparhawk suffered a nervous breakdown.
Handpicked by Radiohead to play a select series of shows in 2003, Low has recently received reviews of praise from publications such as Rolling Stone and Pitchfork.
According to the band’s online biography, it has been in existence for more than a decade and released seven records.
M-Shop co-director Eric Hutchison said Low is one of the most anticipated shows the venue has had all year.
“Low is huge. We’re really lucky to have them coming to the shop,” he said.
As of press time, student tickets to the show are still available for $15 and public tickets are available for $18.
