Iowa State head coach Wayne Morgan announced Wednesday in a statement that sophomore guard Tasheed Carr will leave Iowa State at the end of season.
“Tasheed Carr has left the team and has informed me that he intends to transfer to another school,” Morgan said. “He will not be in a Cyclone uniform for the rest of this season. We wish him well and we will work to help him find a new school as soon as possible.”
Carr averaged 5.8 points and 2.2 rebounds last year and was a key to several big wins, including nailing a last-second shot to defeat Texas.
Carr’s numbers were similar this year at 5.2 points and 2.4 rebounds, but he struggled shooting the ball.
Carr logged over 10 minutes once in Iowa State’s last 10 games, and did not play in Iowa State’s last five games.
