LETTER: Alliger and Nelson are ‘all about action’

Government of the Student Body presidential and vice presidential candidates Henry Alliger and Brooks Nelson are all about action. Alliger and Nelson have led by example through their involvement as current GSB senators and past involvement in GSB, campus organizations and the Greek Community.

Henry Alliger is a candidate with a strong political background, not only within GSB but also at the city, state and national levels. Over the past years Alliger has encouraged students to become involved in the democratic process by being active himself. One way he has encouraged students to become more active is through his leadership and involvement with ActivUS, a student activism organization. He was also a major proponent in Ryan Doll’s campaign for Ames City Council, which made Doll the first ISU student elected to the Ames City Council.

Brooks Nelson is driven to make a difference during his time at Iowa State. In the past two years, Nelson has rapidly become involved in GSB though the greek community. As Inter-fraternity Council senator, Nelson has made it high priority to continually keep his constituents up to date with the goings on of GSB. In his first year on both GSB and IFC, Nelson become an effective liaison by successfully encouraging members of the greek community to attend weekly GSB Senate meetings and informing them of involvement opportunities.

Alliger and Nelson have repeatedly proven they are all about action. In the past they have successfully advocated change through leadership. When elected GSB president and vice president, they will continue to lead by example and empower students to initiate change.

We encourage you to show that you, too, are all about action by voting for Alliger and Nelson March 3 through 6 at www.vote.iastate.edu.
