LETTER: GSB housing guide will be great resource

As director of student affairs for the Government of the Student Body, I have been working on compiling information for the student housing guide that will be unveiled to students during the first week of April.

The housing guide will encompass properties that are available to rent in Ames, as well as a searchable database for off-campus rental properties.

It will also have other information that students should know when moving off-campus, such as city ordinances, tenant rights, and a sample lease.

I have also been working on a “Party Pack, that is designed to give students the information, along with some supplies, to entertain friends and have fun in a safe, law-abiding manner.

The party pack and other useful information will be available to students in early April.

In order to give students the recognition they deserve, I have also been working to design student awards to reward student organizations and their leaders for their hard work and dedication that make Iowa State great. Applications for these awards should be available within a couple of weeks, so be sure to apply!

This week is GSB Week, so be sure to look for us around campus if you have questions or comments, or if you just want to warm up with some hot chocolate.

GSB will continue to work hard to represent what is in the best interests of ISU students. If you have any suggestions or feedback, please contact me at [email protected].
