LETTER: Alliger and Nelson announce candidacy
February 17, 2006
I am writing this letter to announce the candidacy of Henry Alliger and Brooks Nelson for president and vice president of the Government of the Student Body.
Alliger and Nelson are more than qualified candidates for the positions because of their past work, involvement and dedication to GSB and other significant ISU organizations.
Their slogan, “All About Action,” fully exemplifies what Alliger and Nelson want and will be able to accomplish for ISU students.
First and foremost, they will work to put students first by taking action to keep tuition affordable.
Alliger and Nelson will partner with the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa to create a statewide student networking association to protest high tuition costs and other pertinent interests.
They will work for more nighttime entertainment options in Campustown for students between the ages of 18 and 21 by continuing to promote and publicize various events taking place on campus and asking for students’ input on new types of entertainment that they hope to see on campus as well.
Alliger and Nelson will work to make GSB voting a much easier process by educating students and publicizing the candidates and their platforms. They will also push for more publicity for students to get out and vote on election days.
As you can see, Alliger and Nelson are definitely “All About Action” and improving Iowa State to make it the best it can possibly be for its students.
Vote March 3 through 6 for Alliger and Nelson for GSB.
