Hicks Honored
November 8, 2005
Stevie Hicks’ contributions to the ISU football team’s strong play are being noticed. The junior running back was named the Big 12’s offensive player of the week, as selected by the media. Hicks rushed for 149 yards and a score in the win over Kansas State. He gained 130 of those yards in the second half.
“He had a great day and he impacts our whole football team when he’s back in our lineup,” McCarney said.
He is the second consecutive Cyclone to earn offensive player of the week honors, as wide receiver Todd Blythe was selected last week. Defensive backs LaMarcus Hicks and Steve Paris and punter Troy Blankenship have all received player of the week honors this season.
