It was a day off for both the Iowa State and Oklahoma State defenses, as an offensive shootout was on display.

Both the Cyclones and Cowboys moved the ball at will, earning points easily. In the end, it was ISU turnovers that doomed the home team, as Oklahoma State came out on top, 45-38.

Both teams traded scores early, until the Cowboy defense stiffened.

With Oklahoma State up 21-17 in the second quarter, ISU quarterback Bret Meyer fumbled. On Iowa State’s first drive of the third quarter, Meyer was intercepted and then fumbled again later in the quarter.

Those three turnovers resulted in 17 Cowboy points, a deficit the Cyclones were never able to come back from.

Both teams found success in the air, with both starting quarterbacks throwing for over 320 yards. Meyer tossed five touchdowns, four of those going to fellow sophomore Todd Blythe.

Blythe caught 11 passes for 235 yards while Jon Davis also went over the century mark receiving, catching two balls for 104 yards and a score.

Running back Stevie Hicks rushed for 105 yards and leads the conference in rushing.

Oklahoma State receiver D’Jaun Woods caught all five touchdown passes from quarterback Bobby Reid. In all, Woods had 11 receptions for 268 yards.

Reid ended the game with 320 passing yards, completing 15-of-22 passes.
