When the Cyclone football team takes on Army on Friday, Sept. 23, fans will have several opportunities to see the game.

They can either road trip to West Point, New York on their own, see the game on ESPN2, or hop on a chartered plane with 53 other die-hard Cyclone fans and see more than just the game.

The Cyclone Gridiron Club has announced they are now taking reservations for a charter to West Point leaving Sept. 22 and returning Sept. 24. For anywhere from $775 to $975, fans can enjoy round-trip air transportation from Des Moines to Newburgh, N.Y., two nights hotel accommodations at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fishkill, ground transportation, game ticket, a tour of the Military Academy and post tour drinks and snacks. In addition, a spirit rally will be held at Soldier’s Field with an entrance fee of $10 and an option of a full meal for $25.

Assistant coach Terry Allen said he is glad fans will be coming to the game.

“It’s great; we appreciate the support,” he said. “A lot of people will tell you, playing Army is a unique experience.”

For club members, a double occupancy reservation is $775 with the single occupancy costing $925. Non-members can enjoy the same accommodations for $825 and $975, respectively. Payments are non-refundable.

The club recommends non-members take advantage of the opportunity to save a bit of money and earn tax deductibility by joining the Cyclone Gridiron Club.

Seating is limited to 54 and reservations will be taken until June 22. Orders will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis and must be made on the Internet.

The club says signing up by mail or fax may result in a delay in processing the order and in that time, all seats may have been sold. They recommend using the Internet option for faster processing.

They also say for security reasons complete personal information must be supplied exactly as requested. Failure to provide all requested information for each person on the tour, including children, will result in a rejection of the order.

If the interested party cannot or does not want to pay by credit card, a check must be mailed before the order will be processed.
