The information in the log comes from ISU Police Department records provided to the Daily. All those accused of violating the law are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
April 9
- Officers assisted the Ames Police Department with an assault that occurred in the Campustown area on the 2500 block of Chamberlain Street.
- Zachary Hostetter, 19, 1616 Amherst Drive, was cited for underage possession of alcohol at Chamberlain Street and Welch Avenue.
- A 17-year-old male was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication, interference with official acts and unlawful use of a license on the 300 block of Stanton Avenue. He was referred to Juvenile Court Services and released to the care of his parents.
- Andrew Thordsen, 20, 4321 Frederiksen Court, was cited for underage possession of alcohol at Little Street and Hayward Avenue.
- Alexander Goodburn, 20, Orange City, was cited for underage possession of alcohol at Little Street and Welch Avenue.
- Officers received a report of glass being broken in the Wallace Road Office Building. Steven Wolf, 19, 4224 Roberts Hall, and Nathaniel Backaus, 19, 1245 Welch Hall, were arrested and charged with the following: second-degree criminal mischief, a Class D felony; public intoxication; and interference with official acts. Both were transported to the Story County Jail.
- Matthew Clark, 22, 2111 Buchanan Hall, was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated at South 4th Street and Elwood Drive. He was transported to the Story County Jail.
- Derek Kritsch, 20, 3137 Frederiksen Court, presented a false driver license during a traffic stop at Osborn Drive and Wallace Road. He was subsequently issued a citation and released.
- A resident reported a bottle bomb outside the building of Birch Hall. The device was rendered safe and placed into secure storage.
- Benjamin Hall, 22, Altoona, was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated on the 400 block of Stanton Avenue. He was transported to the Story County Jail.
- Brent Wells, 19, Fonda, was cited for underage possession of alcohol at Knapp Street and Welch Avenue.
April 10
- Devin Hanssen, 20, Grinnell, was arrested and charged with public intoxication on Welch Avenue. He was transported to the Story County Jail.
- A vehicle was towed after it was determined the driver did not have a valid license in Lot 112.
- Officers received a report of persons throwing golf balls and causing damage to vehicles in Lot 63. Christopher Snitker, 19, Oelwein, was subsequently arrested and charged with fourth degree criminal mischief. He was transported to the Story County Jail.
- Jonathan Wuebker, 5209 Willow Hall, reported damage to a car antenna in Lot 63.
- Vehicles owned and/or driven by Sumit Patel and Debra Fecho were involved in a personal injury collision at 13th Street and Stange Road.
- A staff member reported damage to glass items stored in a display case in the Scheman Building.
