What’s new in celebrity news? Strange celebrity couples
March 11, 2019
While scrolling on social media or flipping through channels it is common to find that a new celebrity romance is trending. Despite the constant stream of celebrity drama, odd celebrity couples are a topic that always seem to spark conversation among fans.
One example of this is Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande. A pairing that shocked fans, due to the many differences in personality between the two, had a whirlwind romance that lasted approximately five months.
Their relationship, which turned from simply dating to being engaged within a short period of time, made headlines in the entertainment world consistently. From controversial things said by Davidson to the tracks about him on Grande’s album, the couple parted ways shortly after realizing it wasn’t the right time for either of them to be in such a committed relationship.
“I believe that the public is interested in odd couples as they find it interesting that they’re together,” said Bailey Swartzendruber, a freshman in pre-business. “It peaks an interest and curiosity on top of them being famous. I definitely read articles about odd celebrity couples because I find it interesting.”
Celebrities such as Brenda Song, who is known for her role as London Tipton on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, is currently in a relationship with Macaulay Culkin, who played Kevin McCallister in Home Alone.
While both actors haven’t been in the spotlight for quite some time now, they certainly raised eyebrows when news of their relationship first made headlines. They’ve been together since summer 2017, and have since traveled to Paris, and have discussed their future together in interviews, according to usmagazine.com.
After Blake Shelton’s divorce from Miranda Lambert in July of 2015, and Stefani’s divorce from Gavin Rossdale in August of 2015, the couple had started sparking dating rumors in November of that same year, according to thisisinsider.com.
Suspicions were proven correct when the country music superstar and female pop icon, were confirmed as being, ‘a little closer than friends’ by E! news in November of 2015.
While they produce completely different variations of music, the couple has been seen supporting each other at award shows, red carpets, and other public events. They make a good pair, despite singing two different genres of music, and belonging to two completely different sides of the music world.
