An open letter to the Government of the Student Body, to all the funders and volunteers of Analysis of Social Services Evaluation Team and to the students of our community:

ÿCenter For Addictions Recovery Inc. recently received notification that the agency has again been recommended to receive ASSET funding for the fiscal year 2005-06. For many years CFARI has been fortunate to receive this valuable funding to provide our citizens, including ISU students, with substance abuse services.

At CFARI, the ASSET allocation will help provide individual therapy, group counseling and community education to individuals who are harmfully involved with alcohol and other drugs. ISU students will find help, information and support for a variety of substance abuse needs, from risk reduction to addiction treatment that are made possible through the ASSET support of GSB funding.

The impact of alcohol and drug abuse hits home with students in many ways, including impaired school performance, relationship problems, health issues, depression and other mental health concerns, as well as legal and other social problems.

Our thanks to GSB and the students of Iowa State for their continued support. At Center For Addictions Recovery Inc., we are proud to partner with ASSET, and we look forward to continuing to provide substance abuse services to our student community members at Iowa State.
