LETTER: Pick-A-Prof full of useful features
March 2, 2005
The only Government of the Student Body executive slate that will be providing any direct benefit to all students of Iowa State is Angela Groh and Chris Deal. Not only are they working on limiting tuition increases, providing a housing guide and an off- campus party guide, they are also offering students a program called Pick-A-Prof.
With Pick-A-Prof, students can check out a class before they actually take it. They can see the re-take rate, grade distribution and input that other students have posted. Unlike ratemyprofessor.com, there is an actual person from Pick-A-Prof who reads the feedback students post.
How much does this program cost for Iowa State? Nothing. It is completely free to the university, paid for by advertisements (student fees will not pay for this program). And the only GSB resources that would be used for this program are the five minutes it would take for the senate to approve the ad that would be put on the Web site.
Want some real benefits that will affect all students, not just the 100 people or so who would benefit by simplifying GSB?
Vote for Angela Groh and Chris Deal on March 7 and 8. It’s your best bet.
