LETTER: Groh will support ISU Ambassadors

The ISU Ambassadors program has been an extremely valuable addition to Iowa State.

This semester alone, ISU Ambassadors has held two major events, both helping to increase interaction between students and legislators all over the state. Furthermore, it has created more than 50 leadership positions for students on the ISU campus and given them the opportunity to positively influence Iowa State.

ISU Ambassadors was created as a result of the vision and dedication of Government of the Student Body presidential candidate Angela Groh.

ISU Ambassadors is a program with enormous potential to make an impact for Iowa State, but smart growth is essential for it to gain strength in the future. The opposing slate, if elected, will eliminate the position of director of ambassadors from the GSB cabinet.

I would argue this is not the kind of smart growth ISU Ambassadors needs to become an organization that can better serve our university. As a virtually brand-new entity, it needs participation from GSB, not detachment.

For this reason, I encourage you to vote for Angela Groh on March 7 and 8. Not only has she shown innovation and leadership in establishing ISU Ambassadors, but she is willing to give this program the continuing support it needs to become a mainstay of excellence for students in the future.
