LETTER: Groh has established herself as a leader
March 4, 2005
On Monday and Tuesday, ISU students will be voting for our next leader. My vote will be going to Angela Groh and Chris Deal.
Have you really gotten to know your Government of the Student Body presidential candidates? Take a minute and think about this. Angela and Chris have listened to students and are ready to put into action what you have told them Iowa State needs.
Angela’s personality portrays the kind of student body leader she is and will continue to be. Since her first semester at Iowa State, Angela has gotten involved. Her involvement and accomplishments have not benefited her personally, but have positively impacted each ISU student.
This can not be said for all candidates; they have used their power positions to schmooze administrators and students. What are their true motives behind this campaign?
Angela Groh wants to be president of the student body because she has the ideal combination of experience with Iowa State as a student and as a student government leader. She has been involved with GSB for two years, and has seen firsthand how students need to be represented. She knows how to have student voices heard.
She has established positive relationships with university leaders and state leaders. I do stress positive here, which is something the other slate also does not offer. This is important because she will be able to begin working on student issues immediately, since the groundwork has already been established.
Look for Angela and Chris around campus in these next few days. Talk to them and tell them your thoughts. And most importantly, tell them you’ll be voting Groh and Deal on Monday and Tuesday. Make the smart choice and send our university in the right direction for 2005-2006.
