LETTER: GSB needn’t bother with keg resolution
February 18, 2005
I know very little about the Government of the Student Body, but from what I understand it is supposed to be the voice of students. It was nice to see that the GSB was present at the Capitol with lawmakers Monday trying to get extra funding so they could, with a slim chance, keep tuition from increasing.
The thing that did not make sense is that GSB had to take a stand on the proposed keg registration law, and it needed to be swift. There are new laws coming up all the time, and some of them are more important than others. I think this just shows me where GSB’s priorities lie for the students. There should be greater priorities for GSB than whether students should have to register their kegs and take on a little more responsibility for their weekend parties.
