LETTER: GSB simplifications won’t hurt students

I happen to be very familiar with the Henry Alliger and Sarah Walter platform and am disappointed at how opposing campaigns are providing the student body with misinformation about the ideas and proposals of Alliger and Walter. The responsibilities of the director of student affairs, director of academic affairs and the director of student projects will not be eliminated, as claimed by critics.

The duties of these positions, among others, are currently spread throughout several cabinet members and are not being effectively carried out. Alliger and Walter’s plan will simplify the system by having fewer cabinet members who are more accountable for their responsibilities.

Furthermore, none of the current services or duties that students receive from the executive cabinet will be diminished. In fact, they will be enhanced because a cabinet that is held more accountable will work harder for students.

The committees, projects and goals set forth by the current cabinet will remain intact and built upon by the Alliger and Walter cabinet. Every single aspect of the Alliger and Walter platform is in the best interest of the student body.

I urge you not to merely take my word that Alliger and Walter are the best candidates for the Government of the Student Body executives, but go to www.simplifygsb.com to see for yourself.

Vote for Henry Alliger and Sarah Walter on March 7 and 8.
