Meet the Future of Iowa is a legislative reception that is held at Iowa State.

It was started last year by Angela Groh, then-GSB director of student affairs. Students from Iowa State, the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Iowa were all present along with some members of the administrations from each school and the Board of Regents.

This year, Gov. Tom Vilsack will be speaking at the reception. Students, parents, alumni and administration will be in attendance. The purpose is to develop communication between legislators and people concerned about higher education.

This is definitely something Angela has started from the ground up, and it has gone from a low-key event to a very formal and reputable event. Angela has always worked very hard with students’ interests in mind, starting from the moment she took her position as director of governmental relations for the GSB.

She is an intelligent, motivated, effective leader, and she would represent ISU students whole heartily.
