For the last year I’ve been deployed to Iraq, and I’m finally headed home within the next month. About halfway through the deployment (when we finally got a decent Internet connection) I discovered the Iowa State Daily online and began posting feedback among my fellow students. Keeping up with the current political climate and events definitely gave me a piece of home.

I’ll have to admit that I was addicted from the start. Here in Iraq, our time on the net is limited, and often times I’d use all of it up reading and writing on the Daily Web site. I’d like to thank the Iowa State Daily and my fellow students who contributed their opinions online — especially those who disagreed with me! Keep writing and I’ll see all of you very soon.
