Take a break to experience funny improv

Everyone needs a little break from the incessant studying that Dead Week brings. As a result, during the torture of finals this year, ISU AfterDark is bringing in an improv comedy group to help make students laugh — at least until that next test.

ISU AfterDark is an organization that offers a variety of late-night activities to Iowa State students.

The improvisational comedy troupe, Mission Improvable, is the next event lined up on the AfterDark calendar for 9 p.m. Friday in the Maintenence Shop.

“It’s really funny. It’s a high energy, spontaneous type of show,” says Kerri Roesner, one of two advisers for ISU AfterDark. “They run around and include the audience in their skits.”

Roesner says the ensemble has made quite a name for itself by touring the nation with its fast-paced, high-energy comedy show. With 200 shows per year, Roesner says Mission Improvable’s tour show is becoming especially popular within the college circuit and the world of improv.

“It’s nice that more students on campus know about our events and are coming to them,” Roesner says.
