Life after 2-10
August 22, 2004
in the Big 12 during the 2003 season?
Last year was a 2-10 season for the ISU football team.
It’s easy to say there aren’t many ways to go but up. After another offseason of quarterback questions that remain unanswered, a broken window, an OWI and stolen cell phone, the Cyclones hit the field in a couple of weeks.
That means it’s time to break the team down.
Today, you’ll be introduced to the offense — the quarterback, running back, wide receiver and offensive line positions. Later this week, find out what’s happening with this year’s defense and special teams.
Just like a year ago, many questions have yet to be answered in a team full of new and inexperienced players.
Some examples: Do you go with the one-season experience of Austin Flynn on the game field or Bret Meyer on the practice field?
Can the running game return to the glory of the Davis brothers and Ennis Haywood? Youth is plentiful in the wide receiver corps. Can the new players fill the void left by the graduation of four receivers from last year’s team?
Find some answers in the pages ahead, in anticipation of the season opener Sept. 4.
