Information in the log comes from Ames Police records provided to the Daily. All those accused of violating the law are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
June 1
- Lisa Sears reported damage to the drivers side door of a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer at an Ames school building, 1621 Wilson Ave. Damages were estimated at approximately $500.
- Christine Rial reported the theft of a CD player and several CDs from her car overnight. The vehicle was parked at the Bethesda Lutheran Church, 1571 Northwestern Ave.
- Police responded to a call from a Bud’s Service Center tow truck driver who was being attacked by the owner of the car he was trying to tow in the area of 159 Sheldon Ave., the Collegiate Presbyterian Church. Police detained Paul Salvatory Mosha, of 156-B University Village. He was released and promised to pay back the $150 in damage done to the tow truck.
- Karen Teller, 715 Wilson Ave., reported to police that she was being harassed by Kathy Crooks. Police spoke to both women, who agreed to stay away from each other.
- Kum & Go, 111 Duff Ave., reported the theft of $24.50 in fuel by an older male driving a silver Taurus with duct tape over its license plates.
- Kwik Shop, 705 24th St., reported the theft of $25.41 in fuel by a 20-year-old woman in a 2-door red sports car with no license plate.
- Paul Friemel, 209 Hyland Ave., reported glue was squirted into the lock of his home. The door was opened when he returned. He was unsure if anyone had entered the home in his absence.
- Mike Bryant, 2516 Woodview Dr., reported that his neighbor, Ronald Leroy Hanchett, was shooting a gun within city limits.
June 2
- A brick was thrown through the window of a car in the area of 100 Hyland Ave. Suspect John Brian Lewis arrested.
- Richardson Bouchard was arrested in the area of 114 S. Hyland Ave. for public intoxication following a complaint.
- Philip James Brecht was charged with interference with official acts in the area of Lincoln Way and Welch.
- David James Lippard was arrested for operating while intoxicated in the area of Storm Street and Welch Avenue.
