Two ISU golfers hospitalized after I-80 car accident

Two ISU golfers are in the hospital after an accident early Sunday morning. Tyler Swanson and Curtis Foster are in the University Hospitals in Iowa City after being involved in a car accident while driving on Interstate 80.

“I know the thoughts and prayers of the whole Iowa State community are with Tyler and Curtis, their families and all of us in Iowa City,” ISU men’s head golf coach Jay Horton said in a statement released Sunday.

Further attempts by the Iowa State Daily to contact Horton, the University Hospitals or officials from Poweshiek County and the Iowa State Patrol were unsuccessful.

Swanson, sophomore from Clinton, helped pace the team all season, claiming an individual title at the Stevinson Ranch Invitational in March.

Foster, a freshman from Independence, finished tied for 29th at the Big 12 Championship, ending his first year with the Cyclones.
