LETTER: Kliemann article missed point

Thank you for making me your headline story on March 10. While some of your facts are correct, much of the wording misses the point: It is correct that I bought 17 bottles of wine for about 200 dollars at two stores in Des Moines, for an average price of about 12 dollars, for which I had receipts.

I did identify which bottles I had bought at which store. One of the bottles had its price tag changed, which I did not do. I did not carry tape and scissors to ‘stick labels onto bottles’. I did not consult a lawyer, but paid a $50 fine because I did not want this to become a big deal. I assume you took your wording from the police report, which I have never seen.

In the name of correctness and fairness, I would have expected the Daily to have given me an opportunity to respond to the specific ‘facts’ mentioned in the article. I find it unfortunate that the Daily engages in this kind of reporting.
