LETTER: Don’t fund student groups subjectively
March 30, 2004
Mr. Gingerich, I am responding to your letter in the Daily’s opinion section on March 29, 2004.
I am positive the question of whether on not “we” need to pay for the funding of Cuffs was answered two, maybe three years ago when the Government of the Student Body moved to “fund” Cuffs as a student organization.
The issue at hand is simply whether the university targeted, then subsequently treated Cuffs unfairly. It never ceases to amaze me that just when you think all of the close-minded people have crawled out of the woodwork and had their say on an issue, one more pops up.
I just wanted to alert you to the fact you are focusing on the wrong issue, and also to say that yours is only “one” small voice amongst 28,000, so try to keep it in perspective.
