LETTER: Only the wealthy profit from tax cuts

The U.S. Labor Department said nonfarm payrolls grew by 112,000 in January.

Last February, President Bush’s Council of Economic Advisers projected 344,000 per month job growth starting in mid-2003 if the tax cuts were passed.

In fact, the total number of jobs created since August 2003 is just 229,000, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The wealthiest of Americans certainly benefited from those tax cuts. I’m pretty sure the 2.4 million Americans who have lost their jobs since Bush took office have not.
