LETTER: Kucinich the true antiwar candidate
February 9, 2004
Mr. Brown’s Feb. 4 column “Insult-flinging Democrats don’t help their cause” has reinforced my faith in the Dennis Kucinich campaign more than anything before. Of all the Democratic candidates, Kucinich is the only one to avoid such blind mud-slinging.
Kucinich is the only Democrat with a consistent antiwar position. While all the other Democratic candidates carry blood on their hands from backing wars Bosnia, Kosovo and Operation Desert Fox (President Clinton’s attacks on Iraq), Kucinich has been consistently antiwar.
The Democratic front-runner, John Kerry, admitted to participating in war crimes in Vietnam during a Washington Post interview (burning down the homes of noncombatants).
While all the other Democrats can only tell you why Bush is wrong, Kucinich can tell us what to do right for America. Kucinich understands the need to work with foreign powers so we can solve our internal problems. Bush and all the other candidates are simply focused on how to wield their power to bend other nations to America’s will. That is the root of the anger and mistrust toward America.
Please consider Dennis Kucinich as your best candidate for a better America, a better world and a better tomorrow.
