Corrections for the week of 4/25/04

Due to a reporting error, the April 23 article “City Council meeting to address complaints” incorrectly indicates Ames Police officials will answer questions from the public at Tuesday’s Ames City Council meeting. No time is scheduled at Tuesday’s meeting for complaints about law enforcement behavior. Ames Police Chief Loras Jaeger will give a presentation to the Ames City Council and field its questions. A public forum on the riot will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union.

Due to an editing error, the April 26 article, “IRHA criticizes Campustown riot” incorrectly identifies Government of the Student Body senator Kyle Perkins as a former Inter-Residence Hall Association president. He is a former president of the Towers Residence Association. The Daily regrets this error.

Due to a reporting error, the April 22 article “Rally attendees say police should take responsibility” incorrectly attributed several statements to Scott Schaefer, graduate student in civil, construction, and environmental engineering. Schaefer said he does not believe Veishea’s alcohol policies contributed to the April 18 riot in Campustown. The quotes should have been attributed to another person. The Daily regrets the error.

Due to a reporting error, a photo cutline accompanying the April 23 article “ISU student is entrepreneur in field of workout equipment” incorrectly states the Russian Box—a creation of Paul Gutierrez, sophomore in industrial technology—has been used by the ISU football team and ISU men’s ice hockey team. Neither organization uses Gutierrez’s products. The Daily regrets the error.
