Knoll Road to be closed through fall

The portion of Knoll Road between Lincoln Way and Union Drive will close Monday for construction.

The road will be closed due to a $1.79 million roads project, a part of the campus master plan that will last nearly all of summer, scheduled to be completed by Sept. 2.

Knoll Road will be realigned with Union Drive and one of the memorial Union ramp exits. After the project is completed, Knoll Road will intersect Union Drive at a four-way intersection southwest of the current intersection.

When the project is over, Union Drive will be a two-way road, including the portion in front of the Memorial Union.

The Knoll, only accessible from Knoll Road, will be accessible via Lincoln Way to Knoll Road during construction.

How drivers access the Memorial Union will also be temporarily changed. The only access point will be from the south entrance on Lincoln Way, and the only exit will be the north entrance on Union Drive.

After Veishea weekend, Union Drive between the east end of the Memorial Union and the entrance to the new parking deck will close for several months.
