LETTER: Kerry will help college students
January 16, 2004
I am writing in support of Sen. John Kerry for president. I believe he is the candidate who can help college students bear the expense of school while contributing to the nation as a whole.
Kerry has proposed federal funding to help states stop rising tuition costs. Kerry’s Service for College plan will allow students to earn four years of college tuition in exchange for two years of public service. John Kerry also favors a tax credit that covers the first $4,000 of college tuition per year for the first four years of college.
John Kerry’s plan will make college affordable for every American who is willing to work for a higher education.
I urge my fellow students to attend caucuses on Monday and to stand with Sen. John Kerry.
The future of America and the ability to change our world are riding on our decision on Monday.
