Iowa State dominates first two rounds of Colleton River

Iowa State wrapped up round one and two at the Colleton River Collegiate Monday afternoon.

The Cyclones ended the second round in second place, four strokes behind Michigan State which leads the tournament with a 563 total score. 

Iowa State shot 292 in the first round and shot 275 in the second, good for 13 under for the day.

Lachlan Barker and Tripp Kinney got off to the hot start they were hoping for heading into the Collegiate.

Barker sits in second place individually while his teammate Kinney is only two spots behind him in fourth place.

Barker shot 7 under par for the second round with a score of 65 and Kinney brought home a score of 3 under for the second round with his 69.

The rest of the scores are as follows for the Cyclones:

  • Sam Vincent (T44); shot 5 over par in the second round.
  • Jackson Kalz (T17); shot 3 over par in the second round.
  • Frank Lindwall (T29); was 2 over par in the second round.
  • Ricky Costello (T54); shot 1 under par for the second round.
