LETTER: Organization funds come from many sources, people
January 13, 2004
I respect the opinion expressed by Luke Johnson in the Jan. 12th opinion section.
However, it shows me there is still much misunderstanding about where Cuffs (and all other student organizations) receive their money from. Every student pays an activities fee (of $30.00 last time I checked) each semester.
This money is then distributed to student organizations by the Government of the Student Body.
The money a group receives comes from charging dues, holding fund-raisers, and the allocation of student activity fees. Therefore, “taxpayers” are not funding clubs, or at least not with their taxes.
