IRHA to vote on giving discounts for Madrigal tickets
December 4, 2003
Two funding bills will be voted on by Inter-Residence Hall Association members Thursday at the last meeting of the semester.
The association will vote on a bill asking for $1,080 to reduce the cost of student tickets for the Madrigal dinner by $16, said Dan Burke, representative for Barton, Lyon, Freeman and Fisher-Nickell halls and author of the bill.
The ISU Music Department hosts the annual medieval dinner for ISU students.
IRHA wants to encourage students in the residence halls to participate in this event, Burke said. The money would allow 60 residence hall students to get tickets at a reduced price.
The other funding bill, also written by Burke, asks for financial support for Richardson Court Association’s participation in the Varieties show. The bill asks for $500 from IRHA’s discretionary account. RCA has been the only residence hall to participate in the event in the past. Varieties are created, directed and choreographed by students, Burke said.
The IRHA meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Union Drive Community Center Multipurpose Room.
