Since the vast majority of Iowa State’s funding no longer comes from the state of Iowa, I would like to propose that Iowa State should consider a name change.

Replacing “Iowa” with some other moniker would more accurately depict the primary source of funding. Nothing would be more effective at bringing home the serious issue of funding than to consider a name change.

While I do not actually encourage changing the name of the university, I certainly support any scheme that will bring home this serious issue to the citizens of Iowa.
